The Sweet Georgia Brown Blue conquered the hearts and hairstyles of pomade fans worldwide back in 2006. For over a decade it was one of the best solid pomades around. When their production suddenly stopped, it was a shock and top prices were offered online for a Sweet Georgia Brown Blue. Now she's back on the world stage of hair styling products. And it looks even cooler than we remembered: traditionally manufactured to a high quality, packaged in a beautifully decorated tin, filled with the original Sweet Georgia Brown scent and, like the medium-firm Sweet Georgia Brown RED, it offers a perfect styling experience. Alongside Murray's and Black & White, Sweet Georgia Brown is one of the great American pomade classics. The Sweet Georgia Brown Hair Dressing Pomade has been available in a red can since 1934. After more than 70 years, Sweet Georgia Brown was added in a blue can. While the "red" Sweet Georgia Brown offers a medium-firm hold in the hair, the "blue" Sweet Georgia Brown is significantly firmer in handling and in its styling properties.
The effect
The Sweet Georgia Brown BLUE is a real, traditionally made pomade. It is gold colored and consists only of perfumed petroleum jelly, wax and lanolin. That's all it took for an original styling and wearing experience. With a Sweet Georgia Brown the hairstyle holds up in heat, wind and rain. The classic ingredients also care for skin and hair and prevent dry scalp, split ends and dandruff.
Application & styling tips
The Sweet Georgia Brown BLUE is slightly chewy in consistency. Nevertheless, it is pleasantly creamy and can be taken out of the can, rubbed between your hands and massaged into your hair. It is best applied to dry hair. Otherwise, the water-repellent lanolin it contains makes application a little more difficult.
Take a finger full of pomade and rub it between your fingers or hands. Then run your hands over the dry hair and distribute the first portion of pomade throughout the hair. Now massage the pomade into your hair and scalp, like you would shampoo in the shower. Now comb your hair into shape. Combing in between helps to distribute the pomade well throughout the hair and to get a feel for the right dosage. If necessary, massage and comb additional pomade into the hair.
Lastly it's the turn of the hairbrush. It helps to distribute the pomade perfectly throughout the hair and also enhances the elegance of the hairstyle. It is important that it is a hairbrush with natural bristles (preferably boar bristles). You can now use it to glide gently over the hair, bringing it back into the desired shape and giving your hairstyle even more original style.
The washing out
Of course, washing out a classic pomade is not a sure-fire success. It shouldn't be, because a classic pomade is designed to stay in the hair and support the hairstyle even in heat, wind and weather. However, washing out is not magic either. It is important to massage the shampoo into dry hair and only then gradually add water. Finally, rinse thoroughly and repeat the procedure if necessary. It is also helpful to apply something oily to your hair the day or shortly before, such as the oil-based Dapper Dan Hair Tonic GOLD. The oil helps to loosen the consistency of the pomade and make it easier to wash out.
Here's a little additional information:
There is a chemical reaction between the perfume and the inside of the can and therefore there may be spotty, dark discoloration of the material.
This is a purely visual change to the can, which has no influence on the quality of the product.
No parts of the can come loose and the pomade can be used as usual.
